Is there some sort of setting I need to go to to make it detect the new drive? Did I damage something in the process of putting everything together? Do I need a new motherboard? No response by the eject button anymore either. Now this one does the same thing - just spins up, and no reading by the OS. So I replace it with the original drive - the one that would read the disc, but couldn't eject it (it made bad noises when it tried). I also try the holding-down-the-trackpad-button-on-bootup technique, nothing. ![]() Same thing, I can hear it spinning up, but no DVD shows up, and no response from the eject button. LG - 6x External Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black. The reason I was replacing the drive is that it would not eject the CD that was currently in it. Model #A1211, it's an older MBP, but still a C2D. Is there a secret to replacing the DVD drive in a Macbook Pro? I can't seem to get the replacement drive to work.
